Dynamic Lighting and Flawless Detection
The moment visitors step into The HUB Brussels, the building responds to their presence. Together with the Qbus support team, project managers Nick De Smet and Björn Vermeire programmed an intelligent follow-me lighting sequence in which the lighting tracks the visitor’s movement.
This visual spectacle is made possible by discreetly concealed sensors. On the ground floor, black motion and light sensors (SENMoLi/B) register exactly which direction the visitor is coming from. This allows specific lighting circuits and separate LED strips (CVD04SA) to be activated automatically.
In addition, a large number of the Deltalight fixtures are controlled via the DALI protocol (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface). This addressable, dimmable lighting delivers unmatched precision and flexibility when creating the right atmosphere.
To ensure the visual concept remains uninterrupted, the installer mounted additional sensors (SEN01M/B) in custom plastic housings that click seamlessly into the architectural profiles, allowing visitors to enjoy the design without distraction throughout the space.
Elegant Design Meets Intelligent Control
Technology should never stand in the way of a beautiful interior. That is why Tacktimo installed exclusive SUMUM switches in every room. These minimalist switches are fully aligned in style and color with the specific interior design of each space within The HUB Brussels.
In addition to their refined appearance, these switches provide direct access to programmed scenes. With a simple press of the “welcome button,” the room lights up brightly and the curtains open. When the visitor leaves the room, the “standby button” immediately switches the space to dimmed ambient lighting and closes the curtains, while also contributing to optimal energy management.
Total Control and Audio Integration
A comfortable living environment stimulates all the senses. Through the innovative Ubiebox, we connected the Art Sound music system to the Qbus system. As a result, high-quality audio has become an integral part of the programmed scenes.
Operating this advanced technology remains exceptionally simple. While everything can be managed locally and remotely via the Qbus Control app, the Qbus RoomMate (RMT) forms the beating heart of the physical controls. On the ground floor, a central RoomMate has been installed so operators can manage the entire showroom with ease.
Upstairs, in the Qbus meeting room with its striking capsule-shaped entrance door (“La Capsule”), there is also a RoomMate. The greatest advantage of these controllers? Even in the event of an unexpected network outage, full local control of lighting, curtains, and music remains guaranteed.
