The 48V LED strips with 3000 LEDs (27W/meter) stand out in quality. Thanks to the lower, constant current per LED, they achieve a lifespan of 100,000 hours (L70/B0) while maintaining color rendering (CRI>90). The strip is 10m long with connections at both ends and can be shortened every 5cm. Available in 3 variants: Monochrome 2700K, WWCW, and RGBW.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do you read an existing configuration?

This is a completely different procedure depending on the type of controller.

    • For the CTD controllers this goes as follows:

In the SMIII via "File" or "Utilities / Setup / SD card", click on "Recover QDB from SD".

After confirmation you choose the name and location where the file should be saved. The zipped QDB file is then read from the SD card of the CTD and saved. With a positive answer to the question "Unzip and open restored QDB?", All data will then be immediately available. If the data you were still working on was not sent or saved, you will first receive a notification to do so.

    • For a CTL controller follow the following procedure:

Because this controller does not yet have a large memory, only limited data can be recovered. Ao the names are abbreviated to 12 characters and serial numbers are not stored anywhere.

The first step is therefore to type in ALL serial numbers via SMII via "File / Modules". These 6-digit serial numbers can be found on every module (DIN rail, switch, detector, etc.). For the SWC0x switches, an extra option was provided to have them send their serial number via “Search for modules”.

When you then click on the "down arrow", you can read all this limited information.

  • Always use the latest software for configuration.

It is always recommended to use the most recent version. This version supports the newest modules and resolves all known bugs.

If, for example, you enter a serial number and the correct module information does not appear, you are likely not working with the most recent software.

A newer version will always be able to open the older files (.QDB) without data loss.

The latest version of the System Manager software, along with the user manual and version history, can be found in the knowledge center.

Technical info for installers

  • Function Description

Qbus offers a range of high-quality LED strips that operate on 24VDC and 48VDC. They can be perfectly controlled by Qbus modules in stand-alone version or via the bus system. The LED strip is packaged in an anti-static package and rolled on a reel.

We developed this LED strip with 48 Volt voltage to enhance installation ease. Higher power capacities, longer distances, and longer LED strips are thus achievable. At the same time, we selected the best possible LED with regards to light quality. The high number of LEDs ensures a beautiful light distribution. By adding extra components, we also control the power, ensuring that with the use of the appropriate power source (48V), no overcurrent is possible.

The LS48 / 2700 LED strip is intended for use with a 48VDC constant power supply. The LEDs emit light at a color temperature of 2700K, which is comparable to the light color of a 60-Watt incandescent lamp. The strip length is 10 meters and can be connected from both ends and cut to the desired length in increments of 5 cm (15 LEDs).
THE LED strips can be controlled via the Qbus CVD04SA module. The very high light quality is obtained by regulating 300 LEDs per meter. Low current per LED combined with current limiters ensures a lower temperature and provides overcurrent protection for a long lifespan. The LED strip has a 3M adhesive tape type 300LSE. This strong adhesive tape is extremely suitable for this application because of its high adhesive strength, even at high temperatures.

General

  • Safety regulations

Read the full manual before installing and powering on the LED strips.

    CAUTION

    • The LED strips must be installed and maintained by a certified electrical installer in accordance with the applicable legal requirements of the country.
    • The power must be switched off before working on the LED strips.
    • Never power on the LED strip while it is still rolled on the reel.
    • Never connect AC voltage (e.g., 230V ~) directly to the power cables of the LED strips. This will cause irreparable damage.
    • Only to be used in combination with DC 48V SELV.
    • Cut only at designated cut points, and turn off the power supply while cutting.
    • Be careful when unpacking and installing the LED strips, as with all semiconductor devices, electrostatic discharge must be avoided.
    • Use only PWM dimmers suitable for a voltage of 48VDC. In an ideal scenario, the LED strips are controlled by the Qbus CVD04SA module.
    • Use a suitable voltage drop calculator to calculate the total power consumption and select the appropriate power supply, as well as determine the correct wire sections.
    • The LED strip must be mounted on an aluminum profile that adequately dissipates heat.
    • To prevent static discharge of the components, the installer should regularly touch a grounded object.

Installation and wiring

  • Installation

The LED strip must be mounted in a profile of at least 20 mm wide, or use narrower profiles with extra depth and mass for additional heat dissipation. For installation with limited heat emission, an aluminum profile of at least 30 mm must be used.

Never exert excessive force on the LED strip and avoid torsion and an overly short bending radius.

  • Power Supply

The LS48 / 2700 LED strip is designed for use with a 48VDC constant voltage power supply

The LED strips can be controlled via the Qbus CVD04SA module

  • Wiring

For optimal light output, the wiring must be correctly sized. A voltage drop of less than 3% is optimal. A voltage drop should always be less than 5% between the power supply and the LED strip. With a higher voltage drop, this affects the light output and the loss in the wiring will increase (heat). If the LED strip needs to be dimmed, avoid long parallel wiring near other applications and lighting circuits. The electromagnetic field around the cable can also affect excessively placed electronic components. To prevent such influences, a shielded cable is recommended (for example: LIYCY)
