QWZ PPE BE
QWZ-PPE/BE

Qbus wireless Zigbee socket BE/FR

  • Zigbee wireless connection: Wirelessly connects to the Qbus system via the QWI/ZB interface (sold separately)
  • Plug and play: Easily switch the device on/off via the built-in button or through Qbus Control
  • Switches up to 16A: Ideal for lighting, kitchen appliances, etc.
  • Built-in energy metering system for smart energy management
  • Compatible with any Belgian power outlet

The QWZ-PPE/BE is an intermediate socket that can switch up to 16A. You can use this smart socket to easily switch a connected appliance on and off. Once you plug the smart socket into a normal socket, you can locally switch the connected appliance on and off using the button on the socket.

Because the smart socket has its own energy measurement and can be easily moved, you can start measuring the energy consumption of multiple devices in different locations with just one single socket.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do you read an existing configuration?

This is a completely different procedure depending on the type of controller.

    • For the CTD controllers this goes as follows:

In the SMIII via "File" or "Utilities / Setup / SD card", click on "Recover QDB from SD".

After confirmation you choose the name and location where the file should be saved. The zipped QDB file is then read from the SD card of the CTD and saved. With a positive answer to the question "Unzip and open restored QDB?", All data will then be immediately available. If the data you were still working on was not sent or saved, you will first receive a notification to do so.

    • For a CTL controller follow the following procedure:

Because this controller does not yet have a large memory, only limited data can be recovered. Ao the names are abbreviated to 12 characters and serial numbers are not stored anywhere.

The first step is therefore to type in ALL serial numbers via SMII via "File / Modules". These 6-digit serial numbers can be found on every module (DIN rail, switch, detector, etc.). For the SWC0x switches, an extra option was provided to have them send their serial number via “Search for modules”.

When you then click on the "down arrow", you can read all this limited information.

  • Always use the latest software for configuration.

It is always recommended to use the most recent version. This version supports the newest modules and resolves all known bugs.

If, for example, you enter a serial number and the correct module information does not appear, you are likely not working with the most recent software.

A newer version will always be able to open the older files (.QDB) without data loss.

The latest version of the System Manager software, along with the user manual and version history, can be found in the knowledge center.

Technical info for installers

  • Function description

The QWZ-PPE/BE is a plug-in module capable of switching up to 16A. This smart plug allows you to easily turn connected devices on and off. Once you plug the smart plug into an outlet, you can power the connected device on and off locally using the button on the plug.

If you want to visualize your energy consumption and take advantage of all smart Qbus features, such as Qbus Control smartphone operation inside or outside the home, you can wirelessly connect the smart plug to the Qbus system via the separately available Qbus wireless Interface with Zigbee protocol (QWI/ZB). Since the smart plug has its own energy measurement and can be easily moved, with just a single plug, you can measure the energy consumption of multiple devices in different locations.

This smart plug is part of the Qbus wireless range, which allows wireless expansion to the Qbus system and/or a transformation of a traditional wired installation into a smart Qbus installation.

The QWZ-PPE/BE can be used for switching mood lighting, household appliances, kitchen boilers, etc., within the context of ambiance, energy savings, or for safety reasons. The applications are very extensive, as they are incorporated into the fully-fledged Qbus system.

General

  • Safety Regulations

Read the full manual before installing and activating the module.

    ATTENTION

    • The module must not be opened. The warranty is void if the module is opened!
    • Do not connect higher power loads to this plug adapter. Adhere to the specified power rating on the device.
    • Qbus is not responsible for any damage resulting from incorrect handling or misuse of the module.
    • Only connect to QWI/ZB! Not on QWI/EW!

Installation and wiring

  • Installation

Insert the QWZ-PPE/BE into a suitable power outlet.

Attention! Ensure that there is no interference with the wireless connection. Do not install the module in a distribution box, in a metal enclosure, or in close proximity to large metal objects. Certain positions within buildings may restrict the normal Zigbee transmission and reception range (e.g., reinforced concrete).

  • Power Supply

The QWZ-PPE/BE is suitable for a mains voltage of 230Vac and can switch a maximum of 16A.

  • Troubleshooting

If the module exhibits undesired operation such as:

    • The module turns on or off at an incorrect time.
    • The relay engages briefly and then automatically disengages.
    • The module does not respond to any commands, and there is definitely good reception between the QWI/ZB and this module.

Then definitely try resetting the module and reconnecting it with the QWI/ZB using System Manager III.

    Also check the following aspects:

    • Verify that the wireless connection in the installation is not disrupted between this module and the QWI/ZB.
    • Check the configuration of the QWI/ZB and whether the link with this module is still active.
    • Ensure that other wireless devices with the same frequency or close proximity are not interfering with the operation of this product.

Likewise as the QWZ-REL02/230, this module can be connected in a similar way

This module controls the I/O assigned in the first frame and will also transmit its power measurement to the I/O (universal type) assigned in the second frame. This has a measuring range of up to 3.8kW with a resolution of 0.1W.

If the device that is plugged into this has a much smaller maximum power and if you wish to adjust the graph on the Cloud, you can do this via the 'Properties' button:

After confirmation, the 'Remove from network' button will send the command to the wireless network to disconnect the module from the wireless interface. Even if the module could not be reached, the short address will be removed from the list of connected modules so that the I/Os on that module can no longer be controlled.
