Since 1999, Qbus has been developing and producing technologies to make residential and commercial buildings smart. This includes automation of lighting, shading, security, energy management, and more. Our Qbus system is now operational in over 40,000 buildings, both in Belgium and abroad. We are an international player with products of Belgian origin.
Due to our strong growth, we are looking for a R&D Manager.
What does your day look like?
As a manager of research and development, you play a crucial role in leading and guiding our innovative and sustainable projects.
- Keeping projects on track: you manage our R&D projects from concept to delivery. You ensure structure, monitor the schedule and budget, and work towards a targeted market introduction.
- You lead and coordinate our R&D department. You directly manage the hardware/firmware engineers and work closely with the Software Lead to ensure hardware development and software are synchronized.
- Tackling issues: Is a project facing delays or a technical risk arises? You act quickly, make decisions, and take the necessary actions to get everything back on track.
- Building bridges: You are the no-nonsense link between R&D and other departments such as product management, production, and support. You keep communication open, clear, and direct.
- Contributing to growth: You actively think about the technical future of Qbus. You report pragmatically on progress and identify opportunities or bottlenecks early.
Our ideal candidate?
- You preferably have an industrial engineering education and have good knowledge of electronics/hardware and PCB design.
- You have experience with using project management software, e.g., Wrike or Jira.
- You have experience leading a development team.
- You are a proactive, communicative team player who combines a helicopter view with decisiveness.
- You have a strong affinity with technology and like to stay updated on the latest developments in our field.
