An office that energizes everyone

Smart working starts with a smart building. At the FBE (the Federation of Belgian Enterprises), dozens of committees, councils, and conference groups meet daily. In their conference center in the heart of Brussels, everything revolves around efficiency, discretion, and comfort. Thanks to Qbus, all technologies - from access to ventilation - are automatically adjusted to the rhythm of each meeting. Even the charging stations think along: while the drivers are being recharged inside, the same happens with their cars in the parking lot. In a smart, cost-efficient way.

Five floors, nine meeting rooms, 100+ offices, one smart approach. In the FBE building, occupancy and use constantly change. Some users return weekly, others are at the door for the first time. Yet it immediately feels familiar. Each space operates based on atmospheres: with a single press of a button, lighting, projector, sunshading, heating, and ventilation switch to the correct setting. Behind the scenes, Qbus operates; in the foreground, everything feels intuitive.

Outside the meeting rooms, the system also operates. More than a hundred offices are equipped with automatic control of presence, climate, lighting, and screens. At the reception, employees monitor in real-time who is where and can regulate access if needed. Five entrances are equipped with exterior units with video and audio, linked to a central desk. Opening the gate? One click suffices.

Smart Charging, Without Overloading

The charging stations are also switching along. The 12 charging points on site are centrally controlled via the Luqas Charging Hub-module from Qbus. It continuously takes into account the available capacity of the building and the current network load. If there is a lot of activity in the building, the charging capacity is automatically adjusted. In this way, the available residual power is intelligently distributed over the connected vehicles, with the possibility of assigning priorities per charging point. Consider a board member who needs to leave faster, or a visitor who temporarily receives priority.

Soon the system will become even smarter: solar panels will be integrated, so that generated energy can be optimally used for own consumption. Charging will not only be smart, but also sustainable – in tune with the rhythm of the sun and the building.
