A comfortable and sustainable stay is what makes a hotel attractive to guests. From now on, Des Brasseurs positions itself as a climate-neutral hotel, which was not the case before. The old heating system ran continuously to maintain a pleasant temperature, resulting in high energy consumption and significant annual costs.
Automation with Qbus now enables the hotel to heat and cool in an energy-efficient way. Thanks to the installation of new technologies—such as a geothermal heat pump, solar panels—combined with Qbus automation, Des Brasseurs has transformed into a CO₂-neutral hotel.
An impressive transformation!
The comfort of automation
Some time ago, Qbus installed a similar system in the owner’s B&B, where three-quarters of the energy consumption was managed. The choice of automation system was therefore quickly made.
Qbus stepped in at Des Brasseurs by smartly controlling the entire heating system. The goal? To allow the heat pump to achieve its optimal efficiency through heat recovery. Heat recovery minimizes energy loss so the building can cool or heat as efficiently as possible. Unlike before, heating now only operates when the building is occupied, keeping energy consumption low. “An efficient and environmentally friendly climate control system throughout the hotel,” concludes Kristof Debal from electrical company Debal.
But Qbus doesn’t just manage heating—it also intelligently controls lighting, ventilation, and access control to ensure comfort, indoor air quality, and safety for both visitors and staff. A truly successful project!
