Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do you read an existing configuration?

This is a completely different procedure depending on the type of controller.

    • For the CTD controllers this goes as follows:

In the SMIII via "File" or "Utilities / Setup / SD card", click on "Recover QDB from SD".

After confirmation you choose the name and location where the file should be saved. The zipped QDB file is then read from the SD card of the CTD and saved. With a positive answer to the question "Unzip and open restored QDB?", All data will then be immediately available. If the data you were still working on was not sent or saved, you will first receive a notification to do so.

    • For a CTL controller follow the following procedure:

Because this controller does not yet have a large memory, only limited data can be recovered. Ao the names are abbreviated to 12 characters and serial numbers are not stored anywhere.

The first step is therefore to type in ALL serial numbers via SMII via "File / Modules". These 6-digit serial numbers can be found on every module (DIN rail, switch, detector, etc.). For the SWC0x switches, an extra option was provided to have them send their serial number via “Search for modules”.

When you then click on the "down arrow", you can read all this limited information.

  • Always use the latest software for configuration.

It is always recommended to use the most recent version. This version supports the newest modules and resolves all known bugs.

If, for example, you enter a serial number and the correct module information does not appear, you are likely not working with the most recent software.

A newer version will always be able to open the older files (.QDB) without data loss.

The latest version of the System Manager software, along with the user manual and version history, can be found in the knowledge center.

Technical info for installers

  • Function description

The Qbus video door station combines technology and design. With a press of a button, connection is made with the Qbus Control App so a notification appears on the smartphone, tablet, or any other device where the app runs. Thanks to early-media technology, you can see who's at the door before answering the call. When answering the call, a video connection is established, along with an audio connection, allowing you to speak with the guest and grant access if desired.

The 140° camera is subtly integrated behind the glass panel. A light sensor automatically switches the camera to night mode when needed.

    Relay contacts: 2 contacts available.

The Qbus door station also considers design: the combination of black anodized brushed aluminum and black glass adds extra cachet to any façade.

The Qbus door station is available in a version with 1 bell button (QSD01/BB) and a version with 1 bell button and keypad (QSD01K/BB), which can control relays. The provided mounting box is used for both recessed and surface wall installation.

The volume of the microphone can be adjusted independently of the speaker's volume.

General

  • Safety Regulations

Read the complete manual before installing and activating the module.

    ATTENTION

    • The videophone must be installed, started up, and maintained by a certified electrical installer in accordance with the applicable legal regulations of the country.
    • Before working on the videophone, the power supply must be switched off.
    • Never connect external voltages (e.g., 230Vac) to the videophone! This will cause irreparable damage!

Installation and wiring

  • Installation

The videophone can be installed as either recessed or surface-mounted.

  • Power supply

The video intercom can be powered by an external 12V DC SELV power supply or via POE (Power Over Ethernet).

  • Connect

Place the mounting frame on or in the wall with the built-in slot facing downwards. It is recommended to maintain 1m40 from the bottom of the frame to the ground.

Ensure that the UTP cable for the network is present on site without a connector, as well as a cable for an electric lock or separate 12V DC power supply if required.

Slide the cover plate over the cables and attach an RJ45 connector to the UTP cable.

Connect the UTP cable to the video door phone and the separate cable to NO – COM of relay A or relay B. Opening a door lock is always best done via an INP module.

Close the cover and use the appropriate cable grommet with sealing plate to make the video door phone watertight. Mount the assembly using the 6 supplied bolts.

Now place the video door phone in the housing and mount it with the 4 supplied Torx anti-theft bolts in the housing using the provided screwdriver bit.
