MORE COMFORT WITH LOWER ENERGY BILLS THANKS TO QBUS

For a residential renovation commissioned by Daan De Volder Architects, Qbus was brought in to reduce energy bills without sacrificing comfort.

The residents instantly fell in love with this 1990s villa. The property had potential and given its year of construction, 1996, it was quite innovative for its time. But how do you turn a 30-year-old house into a new home that is energy-efficient, future-ready and tailored to all the residents' needs?

"Our concept starts with an affordable and future-proof electrical installation, which can be adapted, expanded and made more sophisticated at any time based on the needs of the house and its inhabitants," said Steven Van Herck (sales engineer Qbus).

The aim of every Qbus installation is to reduce the energy bill without sacrificing comfort. Qbus achieves this by, for instance, only switching on the heating or lighting in rooms where someone is present or soon will be or by coordinating consumption and generation of energy.

The assignment in the villa involved the intelligent control and cooperation of several techniques (lighting, heating, alarm) from a single system, Qbus Control. For instance, Qbus combined the control of the two different heating systems, which can be controlled per zone. The lighting fixtures were fitted with various dimming techniques to create the right atmosphere for every occasion. This way, installer Geert Van Der Aa not only followed the end customer's wishes, but also provided extra comfort, simplicity and reduced energy consumption.
