Entrepreneurs & artists joining forces for Kids

Thursday 21 September - Sunday 8 October 2017

Re-Art is a fund-raising project, whereby artists use the waste streams of companies to create value again. They use depreciated or broken material or the waste of companies for their artworks, which are exhibited and auctioned by Sotheby’s. The proceeds go to charity. This is the second time Re-Art is organised, and the first time Qbus participated. This year’s charities are the Alexine Clarysse Fund (research into child cancer) and Canis Fidelis (which breeds special dogs that can sense epileptic fits in children and can warn and prevent fits as a result).

Two artists will be using Qbus material, creating a work in which the Qbus system controls an animation on a landscape of medical test tubes and a work around AI with old Qbus components respectively.

Re-Art 2 will take place in a former paper factory, at 17, Fabriekstraat in Zaventem. The exhibition opens on Thursday 21 September and is free. Open on 23 and 24 September, 30 September and 1 October, and 7 and 8 October, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. On Tuesday 10 October, Qbus is hosting an evening for architects, along with other companies in the building industry. Architects will receive a guided tour, and have the opportunity to network over snacks and drinks. Sotheby’s will auction the works on Thursday 12 October.
