The collaboration between Qbus and TRL, our partner in Poland, is a perfect example of how Qbus integrates its smart technologies into diverse projects, both domestically and internationally.
The story of Qbus and TRL goes back fifteen years, when Leszek Dobosz, now owner of TRL, integrated a Qbus system in a hotel in Poznan, Poland, for his former employer.
“I was impressed by the simplicity of the integration and the flexibility of Qbus,” says Leszek. When he decided to start his own integration company, Qbus was the logical choice.
With his technical expertise and local knowledge, TRL delivers impressive projects that make the most of Qbus technology. From HVAC control to complete BMS systems, TRL integrates the full Qbus range to deliver smart, efficient solutions.
I was impressed by the simplicity of the integration and the flexibility of Qbus.
Villa in Poznan – Connecting Qbus and KNX
This stately old villa had to be completely renovated to meet modern standards of comfort and energy efficiency. After a demonstration in the TRL showroom, the owner chose a Qbus system with JUNG switches. These switches are offered by Qbus with integrated intelligence, including a built-in temperature sensor, ensuring efficient zone control for both heating and cooling.
The owner also wanted to use JUNG control screens. These KNX displays were connected to Qbus via the Ubie gateway, allowing the Qbus temperature to be set via the KNX interface. Both the installer and the end customer benefit from the openness of the Qbus system.
In this project, Qbus also handles DALI lighting control and even the swimming pool control.
Hotel-Restaurant Zagroda
In this agritourism project featuring a hotel and restaurant, Qbus controls lighting, heating, cooling, and hot water management. The main challenge was coordinating multiple heat pumps to efficiently support all hotel and restaurant operations.
Through Modbus, Mitsubishi devices were integrated with Qbus, allowing the site manager to operate all systems through a single app using “scenes,” and to set the right temperature—whether in summer (cooling) or winter (heating). A Qbus sensor detecting air quality, motion, and light level manages both lighting and humidity in the piano room.
The integration and management of solar energy through the Luqas energy management module is the next step.
The result: a brand-new building where comfort and energy efficiency go hand in hand.
A dedicated showroom
Beyond these impressive projects, Qbus has also opened a showroom in Poland. It offers an interactive experience where visitors can see Qbus solutions in action. From smart lighting to full building automation, the showroom demonstrates just how flexible Qbus systems are. It’s a valuable resource for both installers and end users exploring smart building technologies.
There’s even a dedicated website: qbus.com.pl! Installers, architects, and end users can discover the full range of Qbus solutions, including detailed product info, technical specs, and inspiring project examples.
What’s next?
The collaboration between Qbus and TRL continues to grow. With new projects on the horizon and ongoing support from Qbus, Leszek continues to expand smart technology in Poland. His expertise, combined with Qbus' flexibility, ensures every project—big or small—performs at its best.
To stay up to date, Leszek visits Qbus every year. This not only enhances his expertise but ensures he can apply the latest technological updates in his work.
With a strong focus on innovation, partnership, and tailored solutions, Qbus—together with partners like Leszek—is shaping the future of smart buildings in Poland.
