The new approach to the bank branch
Customers are asking for a less formal, more pleasant experience when they have to enter a bank branch.
This market evolution and changing customer demand did not fall on deaf ears at Belfius. In 2020, the 133 branches that Belfius still managed in Belgium were reviewed: some were closed, but for more than 50 branches, an investment project was initiated to make them more modern, functional, accessible, comfortable, pleasant, and energy-efficient.
Video-intercom and daylight control with Qbus
After evaluating various suppliers and quotes, Qbus was selected as the automation provider for all the office renovations. The Belgian smart home & building company from Erpe-Mere has earned its stripes in commercial projects both in Belgium and abroad since its founding over 25 years ago. Such as the Beveren prison, the FBE buildings in Brussels, the Expo 2020 world exhibition in Dubai, Mövenpick and Hilton hotels in Asia, and many more. Qbus had also successfully completed a similar project in Dubai, where various offices of the Emirates Islamic Bank were modernized. Employees of Belfius, from the AA&O study bureau, and Cebeo could also experience the range of possibilities with Qbus technology in the Qbus showroom in Erpe-Mere, Belgium.
In the new Belfius offices, Qbus provides the video intercom, in cooperation with Comelit for the external stations. This way, each office can choose from a wide range of external stations, whether or not vandal-proof, with multiple or single buttons. Calls are received on the Qbus UbieTouch displays in the office, and if desired on the Qbus Control App on the smartphones, tablets, or computers of one or more office employees.
Qbus also takes care of daylight control. A combination of occupancy sensors with daylight measurement and DALI-controlled fixtures ensures optimal lighting of the offices – functional where needed, cozy where requested, and always energy-efficient. The lighting control can be done through automatic detection, via scenes on standard switches, via the control screen, or via the Qbus Control App.
Audio control
Recently, audio control was also installed in the Belfius meeting rooms. Thanks to the Ubiebox, the ArtSound sound system is now connected to the existing Qbus system. With the smart SUMUM switch, you can turn the sound on or off, change the channel, and adjust the volume. Furthermore, the audio control is integrated into the created atmospheres, making it extremely user-friendly.
